Him Mistry is the Assistant Director and Co-head of NYU Data
Services, part of Research and Instructional Technology, NYU
IT, and NYU Libraries. Him is trained as an architect, urban
designer-planner, and as a geospatial and data expert. He
previously worked as an Urban Designer-Planner at the NYC
Department of City Planning.
He also teaches urban spatial analytics and geographic
information systems at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and
NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress, offering
course-embedded sessions in various NYU schools and research
units. Him actively promotes geospatial technology and
data-driven research in teaching and scholarship at NYU and
other institutions. Additionally, Him provides advisory
support to regional, national, and industry-specific
geospatial committees.
